Responsibilities
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, edging, pruning, planting, and mulching to keep outdoor areas pristine and inviting.
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment such as lawn mowers, power tools, irrigation systems, excavators, and tree care machinery safely and efficiently.
- Maintain and repair irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules for diverse plantings and turf areas.
- Identify various plants, trees, shrubs, and pests to support healthy landscape growth and pest management strategies.
- Execute hardscape projects like installing or repairing pathways, retaining walls, and other outdoor structures as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols diligently during outdoor work activities to prevent accidents and ensure a secure work environment.
- Assist with snow plowing or winter maintenance tasks during seasonal changes to keep properties accessible year-round.
Requirements
- Previous outdoor work experience or background in grounds maintenance or landscaping is highly preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge related to landscape equipment operation and basic repairs.
- Familiarity with landscape maintenance practices including mowing, trimming, planting, and fertilizing.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, irrigation systems, and heavy machinery such as excavators safely.
- Strong plant identification skills along with knowledge of horticulture principles for healthy plant care.
- Experience with pesticide management and pest control techniques is a plus.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to outdoor work environments and equipment operation.
- Excellent physical stamina for lifting, bending, digging, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
