Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in planning and executing age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of toddlers
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, naps, and outdoor activities to ensure safety and engagement
- Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and implementing behavior management strategies
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that adheres to health and safety standards
- Communicate effectively with parents about their child's daily activities, progress, and any concerns
- Follow mandated reporting laws by promptly reporting any signs of neglect or abuse in accordance with legal requirements
- Support classroom routines such as diapering, potty training, and infant care as needed
Skills
- Experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, or childcare settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Certification in first aid, CPR, and pediatric first aid to ensure immediate response to emergencies
- Familiarity with special education strategies and experience working with children with disabilities or additional needs
- Strong classroom management skills to foster a positive learning environment
- Excellent communication skills for effective parent interaction and teamwork with colleagues
- Ability to handle behavior management techniques with patience and consistency
- Understanding of mandated reporting laws and child safety protocols
- Experience in toddler care routines such as diapering, feeding, and nap schedules
- Passion for nurturing children’s growth through engaging teaching experiences
