Typical Starting Pay: $92,000 to $119,000 (depending on experience)
The actual compensation offered will take into consideration internal equity and may vary based on the candidate’s job-related experience, knowledge, skills, and other relevant factors. Candidates with very significant work-related experience may receive an offer higher than the posted typical range.

This position directs all aspects of most of the retail operations in Dining Services, including the Cougareat Food Court, Jamba, MOA Café, Food-to-Go, and Harvey’s Restaurant.
What You’ll Do In This Position
- Responsible for the overall success of the Retail Dining operation
- Sets policies, procedures, operational expectations.
- Gives direction to management team regarding safety and sanitation to comply with all county, state, and federal standards and regulations.
- Reviews condition of equipment with General Manager and makes final decision on CNA requests.
- Directs or advises Retail Dining General Manager on employment and disciplinary matters.
- Reviews financial statements with General Manager and Director of Performance & Strategy and recommends course of action to improve operations and reduce budget variances
- Studies and recommends strategic direction in order to stay current and ahead of changes in University population, on-campus residency, new buildings, new product offerings, and new nutritional regulations and customer expectations.
- Consults on franchise contracts and directs franchise development strategies.
- Advises Managing Director on potential new franchise opportunities.
What qualifies you for this role:
- A firm commitment to the mission of BYU.
- Bachelor’s degree and 10 years’ progressive management experience in collegiate/educational or business/industry hospitality or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- ServSafe certified (preferred – can be provided upon hire)
- Demonstrated convenience/grocery success and experience
- Demonstrated franchise success and experience
