Position Summary
The Quality & Environmental Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the organization’s quality and environmental management systems. This role ensures product quality standards are upheld throughout manufacturing and distribution while promoting compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and oversee the company’s Integrated Management System (Quality and Environmental), including the PEFC Chain of Custody (COC) system and all related documentation.
- Document and manage Non-Conformity Reports related to product issues, process deviations, customer complaints, audit findings, and environmental concerns.
- Monitor and confirm the effectiveness of corrective actions implemented to resolve identified nonconformities.
- Analyze customer complaints and present findings during Management Review Meetings.
- Conduct internal audits for Quality and Environmental Management Systems and the PEFC Chain of Custody system.
- Prepare and maintain audit documentation including audit checklists, audit reports, and nonconformity reports.
- Provide training and awareness programs for employees related to quality and environmental practices.
- Identify, evaluate, and monitor environmental aspects and impacts, reporting findings to management and recommending appropriate operational controls.
- Maintain the quality control equipment inventory and ensure calibration records are current.
- Oversee the calibration and verification of measuring and monitoring equipment, maintaining accurate documentation.
- Track and maintain records related to waste management, ensuring disposal methods comply with applicable environmental regulations.
- Monitor and report on the company’s consumption of natural resources, including water, electricity, and propane.
- Perform quality inspections and environmental impact assessments within production operations.
- Ensure employees follow all quality, environmental, and safety system requirements.
- Maintain compliance with ISO standards, PEFC Chain of Custody requirements, company procedures, and departmental objectives.
- Promote and enforce workplace health and safety practices to maintain a safe working environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar quality or environmental management role.
- Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
- Internal Auditor certification for Quality and Environmental Management Systems is preferred.
- Formal internal auditor training related to quality and environmental standards is a plus.
Salary : $55,000 - $60,000
