Position Summary
The IT Director will oversee the company’s overall technology vision, infrastructure, and day-to-day IT operations across a multi-location environment. This leader will guide a team of Help Desk Engineers while ensuring that all systems effectively support core business functions, including sales, service, parts, and field operations. The role also plays a critical part in driving innovation, including the strategic adoption and governance of AI technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Shape and implement a forward-looking IT strategy that aligns with organizational goals
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Help Desk Engineers
- Direct IT operations across multiple sites, ensuring consistency and reliability
- Manage and optimize Microsoft Dynamics to support sales, service, inventory, and parts functions
- Oversee Microsoft 365 and Azure environments, ensuring performance and security
- Maintain and enhance network infrastructure, including WAN/LAN, VPNs, and firewalls
- Support and improve mobile technologies used by field service teams
- Establish and enforce cybersecurity protocols and risk mitigation practices
- Drive disaster recovery planning and business continuity initiatives
- Partner with executive leadership to identify opportunities for operational improvements through technology
- Oversee IT budgeting, vendor relationships, and performance metrics
- Define and track KPIs to measure IT effectiveness
AI Strategy, Use & Governance
- Develop and execute AI-driven initiatives to improve efficiency across sales, service, and parts operations
- Assess and implement AI tools that enhance customer experience and business decision-making
- Create governance standards to ensure responsible, secure, and compliant use of AI technologies
- Monitor and mitigate risks related to AI, including data privacy and accuracy concerns
- Identify practical applications of AI within a fast-paced commercial setting
- Lead training and adoption efforts for AI-enabled solutions
- Stay informed on emerging AI trends and technologies to keep the organization competitive
Required Qualifications
- 8 years of progressive IT experience, including leadership responsibilities
- Proven experience managing IT operations across multiple locations
- Strong technical expertise in Microsoft 365, Azure, Microsoft Dynamics, and networking environments
- Background supporting dealership, industrial, or similar operational systems
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and risk management practices
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and team development skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related discipline
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft, Azure, Cisco, or ITIL
- Experience within material handling, equipment dealerships, or similar industries
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics platforms
- Knowledge of IT governance frameworks
