As a Territory Representative, you'll take ownership of key customer relationships while partnering closely with an experienced Regional Sales Director to grow market share throughout the Philadelphia territory. This role is ideal for someone with 2 years of medical device sales experience who enjoys the operating room, thrives in a competitive environment, and is looking to accelerate their career with an innovative organization.
Position Summary
The Territory Representative is responsible for driving sales growth by developing surgeon relationships, supporting surgical procedures, expanding existing accounts, and identifying new business opportunities throughout the assigned territory.
This individual will serve as the primary clinical and commercial resource for customers by providing operating room support, product education, inventory management, and exceptional customer service. Success in this role requires strong sales acumen, clinical credibility, and the ability to build long-term partnerships with physicians and hospital staff.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Territory Development
- Develop and execute a strategic business plan to achieve and exceed territory sales objectives.
- Identify new business opportunities while expanding relationships within existing hospital and physician accounts.
- Build trusted partnerships with surgeons, physician offices, operating room staff, materials management, and hospital leadership.
- Drive product adoption through consistent customer engagement, education, and clinical support.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and effectively manage territory activity using CRM tools.
Operating Room Support
- Independently provide clinical and technical support during surgical procedures.
- Ensure products, implants, and instrumentation are available and functioning properly for every case.
- Educate surgeons and operating room personnel on product features, clinical applications, and best practices.
- Respond quickly to customer needs while maintaining a high level of professionalism in fast-paced surgical environments.
- Become a trusted clinical resource for physicians and hospital staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 2 years of successful medical device sales experience, preferably supporting surgical procedures in the operating room.
- Demonstrated success building relationships with physicians and hospital customers.
- Experience managing a sales territory and consistently achieving performance goals.
- Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized with excellent time management abilities.
- Self-motivated with a competitive drive and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable working in operating room and hospital environments.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel throughout the Philadelphia territory.
Preferred Experience
- Orthopedics, spine, biologics, trauma, sports medicine, extremities, cardiovascular, neurosurgery, or other procedural-based medical device sales experience.
- Experience independently covering surgical cases.
- Experience launching or growing new products within a territory.
- Proven track record of quota attainment and territory growth.
