What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recruiting Manager position at Bridgeway Partners, Inc.?
The Opportunity
Bridgeway Partners is looking for an experienced recruiting professional to lead the team responsible for executing our professional and executive searches.
This is a hands-on leadership role with a significant client-delivery component. The Recruiting Manager will accept new searches, translate client expectations into a clear recruiting strategy, delegate responsibilities across the team, and ensure each project is executed with urgency, consistency, and professionalism.
The right person will understand both sides of recruiting: the pace and accountability of an external search firm and the expectations, internal dynamics, and hiring considerations of a corporate talent-acquisition team.
This is not strictly a people-management position. You will lead the recruiting function while continuing to manage a small, selective workload of searches yourself.
What You’ll Own
- Lead the recruiting team responsible for executing Bridgeway’s professional and executive searches.
- Accept new search assignments and ensure the team has a clear understanding of the position, candidate profile, market, and client expectations.
- Assign searches and responsibilities based on workload, experience, and project needs.
- Establish priorities, timelines, outreach expectations, and standards for execution.
- Monitor search activity and identify stalled projects, gaps in market coverage, or changes that require a new approach.
- Coach recruiters on research, outreach, candidate engagement, qualification, and presentation.
- Maintain visibility into the candidate universe and ensure the team is reaching the strongest available talent—not simply the easiest candidates to find.
- Serve as a senior point of contact for clients throughout the search.
- Communicate market feedback, candidate availability, compensation considerations, and potential obstacles clearly and credibly.
- Ensure candidates are thoroughly evaluated before being introduced to clients.
- Help manage interview processes, client expectations, candidate expectations, and offer-stage communication.
- Personally manage a limited number of searches when the assignment, client relationship, or team workload requires it.
- Strengthen the systems, expectations, and accountability that support consistent search delivery.
What We’re Looking For
The strongest candidate will likely bring:
- At least three years of recruiting experience with an external search firm.
- At least three years of corporate recruiting or talent-acquisition experience.
- Experience leading recruiters, delegating work, managing projects, or providing meaningful coaching and direction.
- The ability to understand a new search quickly and translate it into a practical recruiting strategy.
- Strong client-facing judgment and the confidence to lead conversations with hiring managers and senior leaders.
- Experience managing multiple searches, deadlines, candidates, and stakeholders simultaneously.
- The ability to evaluate recruiting activity based on market coverage and outcomes—not activity alone.
- A willingness to remain close to the work and personally recruit when needed.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound judgment, personal accountability, and a strong sense of urgency.
Candidates without formal management titles will still be considered if they have demonstrated leadership, project ownership, client responsibility, and the ability to improve the performance of others.
This Role May Be a Strong Fit If You…
- Have worked in search recruiting and understand the importance of pace, persistence, and client delivery.
- Have also worked inside a company and understand how hiring decisions are actually made.
- Enjoy helping recruiters improve and holding people accountable to clear expectations.
- Want leadership responsibility without giving up recruiting entirely.
- Can step into a struggling search, diagnose the problem, and establish a better path forward.
- Are comfortable telling a client what the market is showing—even when the answer is not what they initially expected.
- Believe successful recruiting requires more than presenting candidates; it requires understanding the market, creating engagement, and managing the entire hiring process.
About Bridgeway Partners
Bridgeway Partners is a professional search firm helping organizations hire for mission-critical positions, from high-level individual contributors through executive leadership.
Our approach is built around thoroughly understanding the potential candidate universe, executing persistent and thoughtful outreach campaigns, accurately presenting each opportunity, and managing an interview process that protects expectations on both sides.
We are looking for someone who can help ensure that approach is delivered consistently across every search and every client relationship.
Why This Role Matters
Our clients engage Bridgeway because an important position cannot remain open or be filled incorrectly. The Recruiting Manager will be responsible for turning that trust into a disciplined, well-executed search—and helping our recruiting team consistently deliver work that earns the next assignment.
Compensation
Compensation will be aligned with the experience, capabilities, and overall value the successful candidate brings to the organization.
Rather than fitting candidates into a predetermined compensation structure, we’re interested in finding the right person first and building a package that reflects their background, leadership potential, and long-term contribution.
If you’re looking for an opportunity to help shape the future of a growing professional search firm while continuing to practice your craft, we’d welcome the opportunity to talk.
