Position: Access Specialist

Position Summary:
Bridgeway Center, Inc. (BCI) is seeking an enthusiastic and professional individual to join our Health Clinic team as an Access Specialist. The ideal candidate enjoys working with the public, providing superior customer service, and ensuring each client has a positive and helpful experience.
The Access Specialist is responsible for reception and administrative duties, including greeting patients and visitors, answering phones, responding to inquiries, collecting accurate client information, and entering it into the Electronic Health Record (EHR). This role also includes scheduling and verifying appointments, notifying patients of previous balances, collecting payments, processing credit cards, balancing the cash drawer, and maintaining strict confidentiality.
In addition, the Access Specialist is responsible for cleaning the Health Clinic on Fridays. Strong multitasking skills, professionalism, and the ability to collaborate with BCI staff and external stakeholders are essential to ensure seamless patient experiences and effective clinic operations.

Minimum Requirements:
· High School (HS) Diploma OR equivalent General Education Diploma (GED).

Applicant must be able to pass an Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA) Medicaid and Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Level II background check, drug screen, and a Tuberculosis (TB) test. Applicant must be at least twenty-one (21) years old and have a valid Florida Driver’s License with no more than three (3) points on their driving record to be insured under BCI’s automobile insurance policy.
Position-Specific Requirements:
· Bilingual/bicultural in English and Spanish preferred (not required)
· Experience with Athena and Phreesia systems preferred (not required)

· Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Duties / Responsibilities:
Some of the job tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Answer phones and greet patients/visitors
· Obtain and verify patient information, entering into Electronic Health Record (EHR) accurately and timely
· Schedule, verify, and reschedule appointments as needed
· Notify patients of prior balances and collect payments
· Process credit card payments and provide receipts
· Maintain cash drawer reconciliation
· Uphold strict patient confidentiality
· Clean the Health Clinic on Fridays

Work Schedule:
· Monday – Thursday: 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
· Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (Health Clinic cleaning)
Work Location: Fort Walton Beach (FWB)
Wage: The wage for this position is $16.00 per hour
