Position Summary
The Processing Lead is responsible for overseeing and operating key fabrication equipment—such as the CNC plasma cutting machine, Voortman machine, Wheelabrator, and Scotsman machine—to produce bridge components according to engineering drawings. This role ensures that all work meets Bridge Brothers’ Quality Standards and AISC standards while maintaining detailed material usage records. The Processing Manager will play a critical role in optimizing workflow, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring the accuracy and quality of all fabricated parts.
Key Responsibilities
Program, set up, and operate CNC plasma cutting machines, Voortman machine, Wheelabrator, and Scotsman machine.
Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and engineering drawings to plan work sequences.
Set and adjust machine controls for speed, feed rate, depth, and angle.
Handle, move, and stage parts, ensuring all components are free of slag.
Remove and dispose of scrap material in accordance with company procedures.
Troubleshoot issues and perform preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment.
Maintain detailed material usage records in compliance with company quality and AISC standards.
Support continuous improvement initiatives for processing efficiency and safety.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum 2 years of experience in machine operation within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
Proficiency in reading tape measures (standard & metric) and interpreting engineering drawings.
Forklift and bridge crane operation experience required.
Ability to program and operate various machinery in applied sciences.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in an active shop environment.
Role Details
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. EST
Employment Type: Full-time, non-exempt
Overtime: As needed
Benefits: Eligible on the first day of the month following 90 days of employment (medical, dental, vision, life insurance, PTO, and paid holidays)
Work Environment: Active fabrication shop with exposure to heavy machinery, moving parts, and production noise. PPE provided and required.
