Color Designer

We are seeking a Color Designer II (Apparel) to execute seasonal color design for apparel products, with a strong focus on market-ready color solutions, execution accuracy, and cross-functional collaboration. This role owns color execution from concept through final product, ensuring alignment with consumer insights, brand positioning, cost, quality, and manufacturing requirements. The ideal candidate has hands-on apparel color design experience at a large brand, works with speed and urgency, and can clearly communicate color intent across design, development, and merchandising partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute apparel color design and finalize color details across seasonal product lines
• Own color execution through final product, reviewing samples and confirming changes
• Maintain color calendars, timelines, and deadlines for assigned categories
• Develop and manage line art, GPIN, PDM, color servers, cutting samples, and material coordination
• Partner with Design, Product Marketing, Development, and Materials teams to deliver market-ready color solutions
• Apply consumer, market, and trend insights to inform color decisions
• Present seasonal color direction and merchandising stories to internal stakeholders
• Continuously develop color design expertise in materials, tools, special effects, and processes

Required Skills

• True apparel color design experience (color development alone is not sufficient)
• 2–4 years of directly relevant color design experience
• Strong understanding of color theory, trends, consumer insights, and market application
• Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume apparel environment
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft tools
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and manage multiple timelines
• Strong communication and presentation skills

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with GPIN, PDM, color servers
• Experience with Vizcom AI
• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturability, sustainability, and cost/value tradeoffs
