Textile Developer

We are seeking a Textile Developer- Global Sports Apparel to join the Global Apparel Materials (GLAM) team. This role is focused on textile and material development, partnering cross-functionally to deliver innovative, performance-driven and lifestyle materials from concept through commercialization. The ideal candidate brings strong technical textile knowledge, hands-on development experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively across Design, Innovation, Product Merchandising, Technical Development, Sourcing, and Manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive seasonal textile and material development from concept through production
• Research textile, print, and pattern innovations, trends, and technologies
• Partner with vendors and manufacturing teams to develop, test, and commercialize materials
• Request, track, and evaluate material testing and performance results
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Innovation, Merchandising, Technical Development, and Sourcing
• Ensure materials meet performance, sustainability, quality, and commercial requirements
• Manage multiple projects across seasons, balancing timelines and priorities
• Maintain accurate documentation using PDM and digital tools

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Textile Science, Apparel, or related field
• Minimum 1 year experience in apparel product creation or material/textile development
• Technical materials knowledge, including yarns, knitting, weaving, dyeing, printing, and finishing
• Understanding of knits, wovens, ribs, and print techniques
• Experience working on cross-functional product creation teams
• Ability to partner with vendors to develop materials from inception to production
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Product Data Management systems
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently

• Experience with performance apparel materials

• Experience working in a fast-paced, matrixed organization
• Willingness to travel up to 10%
