- Oversee accounting activities for assigned areas, ensuring financial records are accurate, complete, and properly documented.
- Provide accounting support and financial analysis, including trend review and account performance evaluation.
- Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations and income statement analysis to support an accurate and timely close.
- Complete cash reconciliations, prepare journal entries, and help maintain the accuracy of the general ledger.
- Review selected transaction postings and reconciliation work prepared by other team members to confirm accuracy and adherence to established standards.
- Support internal control efforts through documentation, testing, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external auditors by preparing schedules, responding to requests, and assisting with audit-related activities.
- Participate in testing for system updates and process changes that affect accounting workflows.
- Prepare ad hoc financial reports and assist with special projects, team coverage, and other accounting-related assignments as needed.
- 5 years of accounting experience, including ownership of month-end close activities.
- Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliation processes.
- Experience preparing bank reconciliations, cash reconciliations, and balance sheet support schedules.
- Ability to analyze income statements, apply sound financial judgment, and identify variances or unusual activity.
- Familiarity with revenue recognition principles, audit support, and Sarbanes-Oxley control requirements.
- Proficiency in Excel and experience working across multiple financial data sources and reporting tools.
- Experience with large ERP systems in a corporate accounting environment.
- Strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage changing priorities in a deadline-driven setting.
