The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and facility systems to ensure maximum uptime, product quality, and safe operation. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical skills, with a heavy emphasis on electrical maintenance, 3‐phase systems, and PLC troubleshooting. The technician supports daily plant operations through preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and continuous improvement activities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repair
- Perform troubleshooting and repair on industrial equipment, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Diagnose and repair 3‐phase electrical systems, motors, drives, control circuits, and power distribution components.
- Troubleshoot and assist with PLC‐based equipment, including inputs/outputs, sensors, relays, and basic logic issues.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facility systems according to established schedules.
- Inspect equipment to identify wear, failures, or safety concerns and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain and repair building systems including lighting, electrical panels, HVAC components, and general facility infrastructure.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns to minimize downtime and restore production quickly and safely.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and parts usage records.
Operational Support
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and project‐based maintenance tasks.
- Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
- Follow all OSHA, electrical code, and company safety requirements.
- Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and electrical components.
- Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and plant equipment as needed (training provided if required).
Non‐Essential Functions
- Fabricate or modify equipment components as needed.
- Perform welding or machining tasks when required.
- Assist other departments with technical support or equipment operation.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 4–10 years of industrial maintenance experience, including electrical and mechanical repair.
- Experience with 3‐phase power, industrial controls, and PLC troubleshooting strongly preferred.
- Manufacturing or industrial facility experience required.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‐solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast‐paced environment.
- Effective communication skills for reporting issues and collaborating with production teams.
- Proficiency in basic math, including fractions, decimals, and percentages.
Computer & Equipment Skills
- Preferred: MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and CMMS/database systems.
- Required: Hand tools, multimeters, test equipment, welders, machining tools, HVAC tools, electrical tools, and plumbing tools.
