We are currently seeking a purpose-driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as an Import/Export Intern (full-time summer, 40 hours per week ; part-time school year, 15-20 hours per week). This position will be in Rolla, MO.
Summary:
Import/Export Interns assist with shipping documentation, order processing, safety data sheets (SDS), and customer communications to support domestic and international shipments. They help coordinate with freight forwarders and customs brokers, process shipment documentation, and assist customers with shipping and dangerous goods inquiries. Interns also support issue resolution, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient import/export operations.

Summary:

Interns also support issue resolution, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient import/export operations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with paperwork, order processing, safety data sheets (SDS), and customer order communications through email and internal systems.
- Maintain records for Customer End Use Statements (CEUS) and ensure that an updated version of CEUS is on file and all parties have cleared export screening checks prior to shipment, if in international offices.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers to arrange transportation and customs clearance for shipments, providing all required documentation and ensuring compliance.
- Receive, review, and process documentation for an assigned base of accounts, and process documents through the system adhering to best practice procedures and processes.
- Support customers with questions on the preparation and shipment of dangerous goods.
- Support and assist with shipping issues, resolving when able and escalating when necessary.
- Pursuing an associate's degree, bachelor’s degree, or master’s degree.
