I'm partnered with a global organization within the manufacturing industry is seeking a State & Local Tax Accountant II to join its growing team.
Role Snapshot
You’ll play a key role in supporting U.S. state and local tax activities, along with select international tax compliance responsibilities. This position blends technical accounting, reporting, system interaction, and audit support.
What You'll Be Doing
- Manage U.S. state and local tax compliance, including sales, use, excise, GST, and property taxes
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual tax reports and filing status summaries
- Perform tax reconciliations between tax engines and ERP systems
- Support year‑end 1099 and 1042‑S reporting and filings
- Maintain tax data in enterprise systems, including material groups and tax mappings
- Respond to tax inquiries from internal teams, customers, and vendors
- Support state, local, and federal tax audits with documentation and analysis
- Research taxability of goods and services across U.S., Canadian, and select global jurisdictions
- Identify process improvements and support tax system enhancements
What They're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline
- 2 years of experience in tax, accounting, or a related finance role
- Strong Excel capabilities (intermediate to advanced)
- Experience with ERP and tax automation tools preferred (e.g., SAP, Vertex)
- Detail‑oriented mindset with strong analytical and communication skills
