Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a welcoming environment for all visitors.
- Manage multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, scheduling appointments and answering patient inquiries promptly.
- Verify insurance coverage through insurance providers.
- Collect and process payments accurately using dental billing procedures .
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient information.
- Coordinate patient intake procedures, including data entry using Microsoft Office tools and 10-key typing skills.
- Assist with office management tasks such as document review, and managing electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Support clinic operations by verifying insurance benefits, scheduling follow-up appointments, and facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a dental front desk or administrative support role.
- Familiarity with dental terminology, and health information management systems. Eagle Soft preferred.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing (10-key), and electronic scheduling software.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally.
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
- Experience with insurance verification processes and medical billing practices is preferred.
