Description:

The Environmental Leader provides site support through guidance in the Environmental discipline.

Key Environmental Responsibilities Include:
  • Oversee Environmental programs at the Neal Facility
  • Develop and plan policies and procedures for air, water, and waste systems in accordance with organizational and government rules and regulations.
  • Audit air, water, and land systems for environmental compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Create and/or oversee reports such as air permit semiannual and annual deviation/compliance reports, Emissions Inventory, Toxic Release Inventory, NSPS VV/DDD, NPDES monthly DMRs, annual water use survey, Tier II report, and biennial RCRA report.
  • Interface with regulatory agencies during inspections, events, and/or information requests.
  • Schedule NPDES weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sampling as required by permit.
  • Coordinate all performance testing as required by the agency and provide additional follow-up documentation as required.
  • Plant support on issues related to flares, wastewater, sewage treatment, and waste management.
  • Lead and/or participate in the investigation of environmental incidents and implement system improvements to reduce the potential for future events.
  • Lead environmental improvement and waste reduction projects to help meet company sustainability goals.
  • Overseeing consultants (LDAR, etc.) as necessary.
  • Acts as the plant resource for related Environmental information on procedures, guidelines, and standards.
  • Maintain Plant Environmental MRRA (Monitoring, Recordkeeping, Reporting, and Accountability) procedure for each unit ( Poly, Utilities and F&S)
  • Assists in the development of Environmental procedures and reviews.
  • Acts as site contact for Environmental issues.
  • Review and approve MOC documents relative to Environmental compliance.
  • Maintains Environmental records. Modifies and implements compliance tracking programs and recordkeeping systems.
  • Conducts Environmental training (face to face and computer based), and coaches team members on Environmental related tasks and activities.
  • Assists in developing, tracking, and achieving the plant's Environmental goals.
  • Ensures Environmental compliance tasks are completed.
  • Continuously seeks out ways to improve Environmental cultural awareness.
Requirements: 
  • 5–10 years of experience, preferably in a chemical manufacturing facility.
  • Good leadership and communication skills, excellent MS Office computer, organization and time management skills, and an ability to interact and negotiate with representatives of regulatory agencies as well as members at all levels within the organization.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in interpreting and applying EPA regulations and working with regulatory agencies.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong initiative and drive to succeed.
Preferred Skills: 
  • 3 years of leadership experience in an HES department.
  • Certification or licensure in the HES field.
