Brant Beach Yacht Club (BBYC) is seeking an energetic, skilled, and hospitality-driven Kitchen Manager / Head Chef to oversee and elevate our seasonal culinary operation. What You’ll Do
As BBYC’s Kitchen Manager / Head Chef, you will lead all culinary operations for social events and à la carte service. This working leadership position includes:
Culinary Leadership & Food Service
· Oversee menu execution for member events, dinners, and à la carte service
· Cook, prepare, and deliver high-quality dishes consistently
· Support members hosting events with menu planning and purchasing guidance
· Team Management
· Train, schedule, and supervise dishwashers and prep cooks
· Create a positive, professional kitchen culture
· Coordinate with Social Chairs, Day Chairs, and Front-of-House staff
Operations & Administration
· Maintain kitchen equipment, supplies, and pantry inventory
· Perform pre-season and monthly inventory checks; report discrepancies
· Oversee cleaning schedules and ensure food-safety compliance
· Design menus, themed events, and seasonal offerings
Schedule
· Typical schedule: Wednesday–Sunday, 1:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m.
· Weekends and holidays required
· Position runs May 18 – September 7, 2026

Required Skills & Experience
- 2–3 years of culinary experience, including kitchen management
- Strong background in food safety, procurement, and cost-conscious operations
- Excellent customer service, especially in a member-focused environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically active setting
- Must be available for the full season
- Valid driver’s license & ability to lift up to 40 lbs
