Mission:
Work closely with the Value-Added Assembly (VAA) Supplier to ensure they have the company resources
needed to succeed, track their launch progress, achieve timely deliverables of tasks on the critical path,
and facilitate clear communication with the team. The mission of this position is to ensure VAA Supplier
achieves a flawless launch. VAA Suppliers are those who assemble and deliver the following modules just-in-time and in sequence:
Front Verticals/Corners, Front Horizontal, Rear Suspension/Axle, Headliner, Floor Console, CRFM, and Tire, and Wheel.
Job Specific Responsibilities:
- Work closely with and take directions from the Global VAA Lead to provide ongoing guidance,
support and monitor the VAA Supplier’s progress to ensure compliance with launch
requirements and processes - Support the Global VAA Lead and Program Team in VAA Technical Reviews, evaluation of VAA
quote submissions, provide inputs to feasibility studies and business case studies Support the
Global VAA Lead in preparing the Supplier for launch readiness audits at various phases of the
launch process (Readiness Valve Check List audits and System Validation Build Audits) - Schedule meetings with the PFMEA Coordinator and actively participate in the VAA Level 3
PFMEA workshops - Work with various groups to obtain the necessary documents for the VAA Supplier (Control
Drawings, Master Process Documents (MPD), Plan for Every Part (PFEP)) - On a monthly basis, prepare and present a summary of VAA Supplier’s progress to VAA 3rd Party
Manager, Vehicle System Execution Manager, Manufacturing Integration Manager (MIM), Plant
Launch Manager (PLOM) and Upper-Level Management Team - Review and forward all ECRs that pertain to the VAA Supplier, log each ECR and document its
impact to the VAA - Work closely with the VAA Supplier to review and buyoff on sequence racks, participate in the
VAA Supplier’s review and approval of their plant layout, assembly processes, tooling and
equipment - Work with Plant Quality Engineer in reviewing the VAA Supplier’s quality plan
- Actively participate in the VAA Supplier’s weekly open issues review meetings and the working
level meetings to close out all open issues
Required Skills, Abilities and Experiences:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent training and experience
- Seasoned professional with 8-10 years of experience in the automotive industry with hands-on
experience in assembly processes, understanding of tooling and equipment, material flow,
quality and fast paced production environment - Minimum of 4 years of experience in Project/Program Management
- Working knowledge of just-in-time assembly and sequencing, time studies, line balancing and
throughput analysis - Well versed in the development of PFMEA, red rabbit and possess good understanding of
various error proofing methodologies (vision system, part presence sensing, assembly
sequence...) - Must be fluent in English and have good oral and written communication skills

- Able to work some overtime and weekends during program launches and/or during critical
