Controls Engineer | 1st Shift | Saginaw, MI | Long-Term Contract
Location: Saginaw, MI (100% onsite)
Shift: Currently 1st shift (subject to change)
Travel: Minimal, as needed to plant sites and suppliers
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Automation Controls Engineer to support casting equipment with a mix of control system architectures. This role focuses on programming, troubleshooting, and working alongside OEM suppliers to validate system performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support casting equipment with mixed architectures, including:
- Non-GCA Rockwell with DeviceNet
- Non-GCA Rockwell with Ethernet
- G16 systems
- Develop, program, and troubleshoot control systems
- Collaborate with OEM suppliers to validate equipment and system functionality
- Support new systems built on the latest controls standards
- Work with both Siemens and Rockwell PLC and HMI systems
- Assist with equipment buy-offs and occasional plant support as needed
Required Skills & Experience:
- High-level Rockwell programming and troubleshooting capability
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- Experience with HMI and PLC project work
- Strong problem-solving skills across cross-functional teams
- End-to-end automation expertise
- Continuous improvement and innovation mindset
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Experience with Fanuc robots and machine vision integration
- GCA experience (preferred but not required)
- Automotive and/or in-plant experience
