What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian position at Brandon School and Residential Treatment Center?
JOB STATEMENT:
It is the job of the Custodian to help maintain and protect our facilities. The appearance and sanitary conditions of building spaces reflects on the community as a whole and is vital to Brandon’s mission. It is important for the custodian to be careful and thorough in working, cleaning and tidying the premises. We seek to provide an environment that is safe, respectful and positive for all and this position is integral to that success.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Ensure Training Center is prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture and cleaning bathrooms and kitchenette surfaces
· Replenish stock as needed in Training Center and House 4 conference area and report missing coffee and other items to be ordered as needed.
· Assist in setting up Training Center when needed for outside and other meetings.
· Clean, vacuum and empty trash in the Admin area offices and bathrooms, including the Admin conferences rooms
· Clean and sanitize all bathrooms in the residences including toilets, sinks, tubs, floors, etc. and restock paper products as needed.
· Report minor or major damage within the residences to maintenance to be assessed and addressed.
· Clean and sanitize the kitchens in each residence thoroughly once a week (one kitchen per day and as needed) including sanitizing cafeteria tables and chairs
· High and low dusting of air vents and doors and window jambs in the residences as needed
· Clean and sanitize staff bathrooms in the school main hallway when needed including toilet, sink, floors, etc. and restock paper and other products as needed.
· Assist with deeper cleanings for DEEC and other inspections in the residences as needed.
· Other duties as may be required from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School degree required; experience with similar population preferred; custodial services experience required. Knowledge of safe use and disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous or biological compounds. Must have a valid MA driver’s license and DEEC CORI/background check. Should be or become TCI / CARE certified.
