What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Designer position at Brandgage, LLC.?
This is a posting for a temporary, contract-based junior designer position at Brandgage, LLC. The contract is for 3 months, after which the position will be evaluated for renewal.
Brandgage is an agency specializing in design and development for digital platforms at trade shows. We work on everything from interactive touch screens to VR games.
In an average day, the designer will:
- Attend a daily meeting with the design team to review their workload and progress
- Meet with developers to establish how assets should be cut
- Cut assets from provided design files for development
- Cooperate with the design team to integrate internal and client feedback in their work
- Participate in brainstorm meetings• Create storyboards visualizing new concepts to propose to clients
- Mock up and present designs for applications, from the early stages of wireframing to final storyboards
We do require that the prospective designer is comfortable using a Mac, and has a solid knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). Knowledge of Sketch layout software is a plus, but not required.
Working knowledge of animation/motion graphics software such as Blender or After Effects is a huge plus. It is expected that the designer will learn the above animation software on the job, if they have no prior experience.
The designer will need to be very comfortable asking for feedback on their work from other members of the design team and developers, contributing new ideas, and switching projects mid-stream as the need arises. A wide variety of projects coupled with short timelines makes for a company culture that is pragmatic, generally calm, and often fun.
