Reports to: Director of Communications and Marketing

Junior Achievement of Western Pennsylvania (JAWPA) is dedicated to educating and inspiring young people to succeed. We support Junior Achievement programs across Western Pennsylvania and Northern West Virginia, delivering hands-on learning experiences that help students manage money, plan for their economic future, explore entrepreneurship, and prepare for careers or college.

The Opportunity 

As JAWPA continues to expand its reach and deepen its impact, we are seeking a Marketing Content Coordinator to help ensure our story reaches the right audience(s) in meaningful, engaging ways. 


This role isn’t just about posting content. It’s about bringing our programs, partnerships, and impact to life in a way that connects, engages, and grows our audience. What You’ll Do  


Create & Execute Content That Connects 

  • Own the day-to-day execution of content across social media, email, blogs, and digital campaigns  
  • Maintain and manage a content calendar that keeps everything organized and aligned  
  • Write clear, engaging content that reflects a consistent and human brand voice  
  • Keep content fresh by monitoring trends, platform updates, and growth opportunities  


Tell Stories Visually 

  • Capture photos and short-form video to support storytelling  
  • Create content optimized for social platforms  
  • Spot and elevate compelling stories from programs, events, and partnerships  
  • Partner with internal team members to ensure visuals align with brand standards  

 

Support Marketing & Communications Efforts 

  • Update website content for accuracy, clarity, and basic SEO best practices  
  • Draft initial PR materials such as press releases and media advisories  
  • Help distribute content across channels for maximum reach  
  • Track and report on engagement and performance metrics  

 

Be Part of the Bigger Picture 

  • Support events, programs, and partnership-related deliverables  
  • Contribute to a collaborative team where priorities can shift quickly  
  • Help ensure everything we put out reflects quality and consistency

What You’ll Bring (Requirements) 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field, or equivalent professional experience 
  • 2–4 years of experience in marketing, communications, or content‑focused roles. 
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills 
  • Proven ability to work successfully and independently within cross-functional teams, often under demanding and/or changing deadlines 
  • Experience managing or supporting social media platforms 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines 
  • Cultural awareness and the ability to tailor content to diverse audiences 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Knowledge of Adobe Suite and/or Canva 
  • Proficiency in content management and social media tools like Meltwater or HubSpot 
  • Experience supporting nonprofit or mission‑driven communications
