RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead the month-end and quarter-end close process, including revenue recognition, review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Manage accounts payable function to ensure proper coding of vendor invoices and communications with external vendor partners.
- Oversee application of ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition)
- Manage and analyze project/study-level financials, ensuring proper alignment of revenue and expenses
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure accurate cost allocation and revenue timing across multiple active studies
- Support and lead aspects of the external audit process, including preparation of schedules and technical accounting documentation
- Evaluate and strengthen internal controls and accounting processes to support scalability
- Provide guidance and mentorship to staff and review team output
- Contribute to systems and process improvements, including ERP optimization
- Prepare and review GAAP-compliant financial statements and internal reporting packages
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA (active or in-progress) strongly preferred
- Public accounting background highly preferred
- 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience
- Proven ownership of the close process and financial reporting
- Experience working with external auditors
- Excellent attention to detail and strong customer service skills.
- Experience supervising staff and managing processes
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting software
- Ability to work as a member of a team and to organize, instruct, and supervise staff while promoting group effort and achievement
- Superb time management skills and detail orientation
- Ability to manage conflicts and resolve problems effectively
