Position Summary
The General Superintendent l serves as the on-site leader responsible for managing field operations, coordinating trade partners, maintaining schedules, ensuring safety, and driving quality throughout the project lifecycle. This role serves as the primary liaison between field operations, clients, subcontractors, and the internal project team.
The Superintendent is a visible leader who establishes the tone for jobsite culture by promoting accountability, communication, collaboration, and craftsmanship while ensuring projects remain safe, organized, and aligned with project goals.
This role requires a hands-on leader who thrives in dynamic environments, proactively solves problems, and leads with professionalism, trust, and excellence.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesField Leadership & Site Operations
· Lead and coordinate daily construction site operations across multiple projects
· Direct field activities from mobilization through project closeout
· Oversee site logistics, sequencing, manpower, and workflow coordination
· Maintain a visible and engaged leadership presence on jobsites
· Support project execution through proactive planning and communication
Schedule Management & Coordination
· Manage project schedules and sequencing activities
· Monitor project progress to ensure alignment with schedule milestones
· Coordinate trade partners and field crews to maintain productivity
· Host and facilitate weekly foreman meetings
· Communicate schedule updates and constraints to project teams
Trade Partner & Team Management
· Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and trade partners
· Promote collaboration between field teams and office staff
· Support project managers through continuous field communication
· Build positive working relationships throughout the project lifecycle
· Foster a productive and accountable jobsite culture
Safety & Quality Leadership
· Maintain safe, organized, and compliant jobsites
· Champion BP Builders’ commitment to safety and quality
· Enforce safety standards, PPE requirements, and jobsite expectations
· Identify and resolve quality issues proactively
· Promote continuous improvement initiatives
· Serve as a role model for safe work practices and professionalism
Procurement & Documentation
· Order materials and coordinate deliveries
· Schedule inspections and maintain project records
· Maintain accurate documentation including:
o Daily Reports
o Site Logs
o Inspection Records
o Progress Updates
o Punch Lists
o Safety Documentation
o Project Photos
· Support project closeout activities
Client & Stakeholder Communication
· Serve as a trusted advisor and field liaison for clients
· Maintain responsive communication with project stakeholders
· Provide field updates to internal teams and project managers
· Represent BP Builders professionally during site meetings and walkthroughs
· Maintain strong trade partner and client relationships
Problem Solving & Risk Management
· Identify and resolve field issues before escalation
· Adapt quickly to changing project conditions
· Coordinate solutions collaboratively with project teams
· Maintain project momentum while minimizing disruptions
· Lead through calm decision-making under pressure
Meetings & Coordination
· Lead and facilitate:
o Weekly OAC (Owner / Architect / Contractor) Meetings
o Procurement Meetings
o Project Coordination Meetings
o Progress Reviews
o Internal Team Meetings
· Document action items and maintain accountability for deliverables
Risk Management & Problem Solving
· Proactively identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies
· Resolve project issues through collaborative decision-making
· Manage project changes and unforeseen conditions
· Maintain focus on schedule, budget, safety, and quality objectives
Business Development & Relationship Building
· Generate project opportunities through ongoing industry relationships
· Build partnerships within the construction community
· Support business development and growth initiatives
· Represent BP Builders in networking, client meetings, and industry engagement opportunities
Safety & Quality Leadership
· Champion BP Builders’ commitment to safety and quality
· Promote continuous improvement initiatives
· Ensure compliance with company standards and project requirements
· Support jobsite safety culture and quality assurance efforts
Qualifications & RequirementsEducation / Experience Required:
· Minimum 3 years of experience leading commercial construction projects as a Superintendent with a General Contractor
· Experience managing field teams and coordinating trade partners
Preferred:
· Experience overseeing high-end Class A tenant improvement or commercial interior projects
· Experience in drywall, finish carpentry, or millwork
· Experience scheduling integrated project teams
· Deep understanding of permitting and safety requirements
Knowledge & Skills
· Strong understanding of construction sequencing and trade scopes
· Knowledge of site logistics and field operations
· Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
· Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
· Leadership mindset with team-oriented approach

Technical Skills
Proficiency preferred in:

Certifications / Requirements
· Valid Driver’s License required
· OSHA certification preferred
· Ability to travel to jobsites as needed
Physical Requirements
This role is active and hands-on and requires extended periods in active construction environments.
Position requirements include:
· Walking uneven terrain and active jobsites
· Climbing ladders and stairs
· Kneeling, crouching, bending, and reaching
· Occasional lifting and moving materials
· Extended standing and walking periods
· Computer work for schedules, reports, and documentation
· Ability to safely access active construction environments
Work environments may include:
· Indoor climate-controlled projects
· Outdoor projects in varying weather conditions
· Renovation environments requiring additional precautions
· Noisy, dusty, and fast-paced conditions PPE is provided and required when applicable.
