Girls 6th Grade Volleyball Coach
Reports To: Athletic Director
Pay & Benefits: $25.00 an hour
FLSA Status: Part-Time (Non-Exempt)
Hours per Week: Varies (avg. 12–14 hours/week)
Summary:
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad is seeking enthusiastic, responsible, and committed Volleyball Coaches to lead our Middle School Girls Volleyball teams this fall season. Coaches will be responsible for overseeing the 6th Grade teams during practices, games, and tournaments. We're looking for coaches who are passionate about developing young athletes and creating a positive and inclusive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead practices for 6th grade girls’ volleyball teams
- Coach and supervise home and away games
- Attend tournaments and playoff games as scheduled
- Arrive on-site early to prepare for practices/games
- Oversee team conduct, teamwork, and player development
- Communicate with athletes, parents, and Club staff using TeamSnap
- Promote good sportsmanship and inclusive team values
- Assist with scorekeeping, setup, breakdown, and equipment storage
- Provide supervision and leadership during the entire practice/game block
- Help organize games and events
Requirements:
- Prior volleyball playing or coaching experience preferred
- Must be 18 years or older
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Ability to work all scheduled hours and travel to off-site games
- Must complete background check and onboarding with the Club
- Reliable transportation to multiple school sites in Carlsbad

Season Dates
Phase #1 (Tryouts) Schedule for August 31st :
Tryouts: August 31 2:30pm - 3:45pm
Phase #2 (Prep for regular season) Schedule for September 7th - 17th :
Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday practice:
- 6th Grade Practice from 4:45pm - 5:45pm (Aviara 4:30pm - 5:30pm)
Thursdays
- 6th Grade Coach shows up no later and no earlier than 3:30pm and Clock out no later than 5:00pm (Aviara 3:15pm/4:45pm)
Phase #3 (Regular Season) Schedule for September 21st - October 15th:
Monday/Wednesday practice:
- 6th Grade Practice from 4:45pm - 5:45pm (Aviara 4:30pm - 5:30pm) OR Game TBD Potential Game Day for 6th Grade Team 5:00PM- 6:00PM (JUST DEPENDS ON GAME SCHEDULE)
Tuesdays
- 6th Grade practice 2:30pm - 3:45pm
Phase #4 (Post Season) Schedule for October 19th
- Top 2 seeds move on to Championship game on Monday
- Monday Championship Game October 19th
- Championship Game for 6th Grader Team 5:00PM- 6:00PM
