What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary Program Staff position at Boys and Girls Club of Janesville?
Love kids? This is the ideal position, full of hands-on, active fun. As a Program Staff, you’ll help plan, organize and lead fun and educational activities for youth ages 6 to 12.

Specific duties include:
Safe, Positive Environment
- Maintain a safe, organized and healthy environment by fostering cooperative social behavior
- Establish and reinforce a safe, positive climate for all of our Boys & Girls Club members
- Communicate daily in a positive, appropriate manner with staff, supervisors, directors, children, families, and community members
Program Implementation
- Help plan, organize and deliver after school programming for youth, ages 6-12, which supports the Clubs priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Good Character & Citizenship and Healthy Lifestyles
- Provide active supervision at all times including during bus transportation from school to Club, program activities, and free choice activities in the games room, gym, classrooms and on the playground
Guidance
- Utilize positive behavior guidance techniques with children
- Recognize potential conflicts between Club members and have the ability to diffuse the situation
Skills/Knowledge Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience working with youth
- Completed one early childhood education course or completed the assistant child care teacher training program through DPI or will complete within six months of hire
- First Aid/CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire
- Basic problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Driver’s License preferred
- Job Type: Part-time, approximate hours 1:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. weekdays

Pay: $14.00 - $15.50 per hour
