What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sugarloaf Director of Child Care position at Boyne Resorts?
Sugarloaf is looking for a qualified and fun-loving person to join our team as our new Child Care Director.
The Sugarloaf Child Care Director ensures that children have a safe and fun space in which to play and learn, while also having their basic individual needs met. This role will manage our childcare team; will be responsible for team scheduling and training; and will be the primary point of contact for communication with families.
The ideal candidate for this role will possess a passion for working with children and maintaining a positive team culture in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, our Child Care Director needs to demonstrate strong leadership skills, be a creative problem-solver and decision-maker and display a friendly and approachable demeanor at all times.

We are currently seeking a full-time winter season team member, however this could become a year-round full-time role for the right candidate.

Responsibilities
- Oversees all daily operations of the Child Care center
- Develops and executes structured, goal-oriented weekly staff training programs with clear learning outcomes
- Completes annual training hours
- Must demonstrate a methodical approach to center management, maintaining meticulous compliance with licensing regulations, balancing compassionate care with systematic operational protocols
Qualifications
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must be CPR certified
- Must meet one of the following requirements:
- Have a Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts (BA/BS) in Early Childhood Education; or
- Have a BA/BS in a Department-approved related field with 18 credit hours in Early Childhood Education and three years of direct Child care experience; or
- Have an Associate in Arts/Associate in Science (AA/AS) in Early Childhood Education and three years of direct Child care experience; or
- Have an AA/AS in a related field with 18 credit hours in Early Childhood Education and three years of direct Childcare experience; or
- Possess a current CDA as awarded by the Council for Professional Recognition or a Maine State approved credential, with five years of direct Childcare experience; or
- Have at least seven years of experience and 180 hours of training in the topics listed above; or
- Meet Level 5, 6, 7, or 8 on the Maine Roads to Quality Career Lattice
