Responsibilities
The Hair Stylist's typical job functions include:
- Providing consistent professional hair treatments in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices
- Being on time for your shift and prompt with each appointment, performing services within appropriate times allotted for service
- Being flexible with your schedule to better support the needs of the spa
Properly caring for equipment and using proper amounts of product to assist with cost controls
- Having complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products while educating and training guests in these areas
- Actively promoting home care programs, meeting minimum retail sales goals
- Upholding the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the spa’s policies and procedures
- Performing prep work and properly cleaning and restocking work area as required
- Communicating to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa or salon that require attention
- Actively promoting the spa, treatments, services, sessions and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available
- Handling guest’s questions and concerns professionally and courteously
- Providing accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by guests ensuring complete guest satisfaction
- Possessing ability to work without direct supervision
- Maintaining a positive attitude and contribution toward a quality work environment
- Regularly attending, participating in and supporting training and staff meetings for the spa
- Assisting in all areas of spa operation as requested by management
Qualifications
This position may be for you if:
- You possess a valid Michigan cosmetology license
- You have previous hair styling experience
- You have enthusiasm and excellent customer service skills
- You enjoy working with people and have a friendly outgoing personality
- You have excellent communication and listening skills
