2nd shift CNC Mill/Lathe Operator
Job Overview
At Bowden Manufacturing, our CNC Operators play a critical role in producing precision components that serve aerospace, defense, and commercial industries. In this position, you’ll operate a variety of CNC mills and lathes, ensuring each part meets quality and performance standards.
This is a hands-on, technical role designed for individuals who take pride in accuracy, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement. You’ll learn to use precision inspection tools, maintain equipment, and contribute to a culture built on teamwork, quality, and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machinery to manufacture high-precision components that meet production and quality standards.
- Adjust tooling offsets, work coordinates, and machine parameters to optimize part quality and machine performance.
- Inspect parts using precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.) to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Document setup procedures and inspection results to support process control and consistency.
- Monitor and maintain tooling condition, replacing or sharpening tools as needed to minimize downtime and maintain accuracy.
- Assist in the design or modification of custom fixtures and tooling to improve workflow and efficiency.
- Conduct basic machine maintenance and report any equipment issues promptly to prevent production delays.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with Bowden’s safety standards.
- Collaborate closely with other operators, leads, and engineers to meet daily production goals and deliver exceptional quality.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship (required due to ITAR regulations).
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.
- Prior CNC experience or strong mechanical aptitude with a willingness to learn through on-the-job training.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, precision components.
- Familiarity with inspection tools and metrology practices; ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Strong teamwork and communication skills with a positive, proactive attitude.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining focus on safety and accuracy.
