Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for running computer numerical control machines to fabricate parts according to specifications.
Duties
- Ability to operate CNC mills, CNC lathes, ACME Gridley, or INDEX multi spindle machines.
- Set-up CNC mills, CNC lathes, ACME Gridley, or INDEX multi spindle machines by installing and adjusting three and four jaw chucks, tools attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops and stock pushers, indicating vices.
- Read and interpret blueprints to understand job specifications
- Load raw materials into the machine by lifting stock into position
- Monitor the machining process to ensure it maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements, detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy; verify settings by measuring positions and sample workpieces
- Maintain equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following company instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions or correcting minor mechanical issues
- Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs
- Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job completion
Requirements
- Proficiency in CNC machine operation
- Knowledge of CAM programming and CAD software
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools like calipers and micrometers
- Basic math, geometry and trigonometry skills for measurements and calculations
- Experience in a manufacturing or factory environment is preferred
- Familiarity with tooling and assembly processes
