The Real Estate Finance and Transaction Paralegal plays a vital role within the real estate finance group, supporting multiple attorneys on complex, high-value transactions. This position involves managing large deal files and ensuring that all documentation is meticulously prepared and organized. The ideal candidate must possess a strong understanding of the entire due diligence process and be able to draft various legal documents with precision. Responsibilities
- Prepare documentation for closings, including organization, proofreading, and assembling documents for transactions involving multiple properties
- Draft loan and assignment documents and assist with loan servicing memoranda
- Conduct due diligence reviews
- Review organizational charts and related documents
- Coordinate with title companies and review title, survey, and zoning documents
- Manage closing and post-closing logistics, including closing binders
- Prepare UCC Financing Statements
- Manage online SharePoint sites and research applicable laws and public information
- At least 3 years (ideally 5) prior experience as a paralegal in real estate finance and transactional finance
- Experience working on large deals (multi-million dollar transactions)
- Familiarity with multi-family, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, CMBS, and secured lending transactions involving all real estate commercial asset classes
- Comprehensive knowledge of the due diligence process
- Understanding of title and survey review
- Experience with UCC filing statements
- Excellent drafting skills
- Willingness to work overtime when necessary
- BA Degree is preferred
- Paralegal certificate is preferred
