General Litigation Attorney

A well-established law firm is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented General Litigation Attorney to join its growing practice. This role will focus on representing government and institutional clients in a wide variety of litigation matters including civil disputes, employment law, and land use issues. From drafting pleadings and handling discovery to representing clients at hearings and trials, this attorney will play a key role in managing a diverse caseload and providing strategic legal counsel. The ideal candidate is a highly organized litigator with excellent writing skills, a commitment to public service, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

General Litigation Attorney Responsibilities

• Manage litigation matters from intake through resolution, including discovery, motion practice, hearings, and trial
• Represent government and institutional clients in civil, employment, and land use disputes
• Draft pleadings, legal briefs, motions, and memoranda
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategy under partner supervision
• Maintain regular communication with clients and provide timely, solution-oriented guidance
• Collaborate with colleagues across practice areas
• Meet monthly and annual billable hour requirements
  
  

General Litigation Attorney Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in Georgia
• Minimum 2 years of litigation experience
• Experience in employment law, government law, or zoning/land use preferred
• Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and legal software tools
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously
