Front Desk Receptionist Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients with professionalism, warmth, and efficiency
- Open or close clinic depending on shift assignment
- Manage patient intake, documentation, and consent forms within the electronic health record system
- Notify clinicians of patient arrivals and coordinate appointment flow
- Handle appointment scheduling, follow-ups, and reminder calls
- Distribute metro cards to eligible patients and maintain accurate records
- Assist with patient check-out and payment processing when needed
- Support a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk environment
- Communicate proactively with leadership to resolve issues quickly
- Bilingual English/Spanish required
- 1 year experience in customer service or receptionist role
- Prior experience in a medical, dental, mental health, or legal setting
- HIPAA and confidentiality knowledge required
- High school diploma required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to build trust quickly with diverse populations
- Professional, approachable, and reliable
- Ability to stay self-motivated during slower in-person traffic periods
- Comfortable learning technology and using EHR/CRM systems
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience in behavioral health services preferred
- Experience with electronic medical records preferred
