Boston MedFlight (BMF) is a nonprofit, CAMTS-accredited Critical Care Transport service dedicated to providing exceptional regional critical care transport for over 35 years. As an integral part of the Massachusetts EMS system and New England’s community hospitals, Boston MedFlight ensures access to emergency medical transport for all patients regardless of their ability to pay. BMF operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and relies on support from consortium hospitals, third-party reimbursement, and fundraising efforts to sustain its operations. Consortium members include leading medical institutions such as Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston Medical Center, and Massachusetts General Hospital.
This is a full-time on-site role for a Communications Specialist located in Bedford, MA. The Communications Specialist will be responsible for developing and executing strategic communications initiatives, crafting and distributing press releases, managing external and internal communications, and supporting the organization’s overall messaging strategies. The role involves writing, editing, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to effectively communicate Boston MedFlight's mission and impact. In addition, the position includes promoting fundraising campaigns and enhancing public awareness about the organization.
- Strong skills in Communication, Strategic Communications, and Internal Communications
- Proficiency in Writing and creating professional Press Releases
- Ability to develop and implement cohesive communications strategies
- Experience in handling media relations or public relations
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field
- Experience in the healthcare or nonprofit sector is a plus
