Job Title: Critical Care Transport Specialist (Paramedic)Reports To: Chief Executive Officer and Chief Medical OfficerPosition SummaryUnder the direction of the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Medical Officer, the Critical Care Transport Specialist (CCTS) is responsible for providing safe, effective, and comprehensive prehospital and interfacility care to patients transported by Boston MedFlight by air or ground. The paramedic functions as part of a high-performance clinical team, capable of responding to a wide variety of high-acuity medical scenarios.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Care and OperationsProvide comprehensive and effective patient care to critically ill and injured patients in the transport environment.Maintain clinical skill proficiency and updated knowledge base to provide advanced-level medical care.Maintain certifications mandated by the position.Uphold safety standards in accordance with Boston MedFlight, FAA, and contracted aviation vendor requirements.Complete all required patient care documentation accurately and in a timely manner per organizational policy.Maintain a clean and fully stocked clinical and operational environment.Clean, restock, and retrieve medical equipment.Report on time for duty at assigned BMF base sites, including remote locations.Maintain compliance with all Boston MedFlight policies and procedures.Uphold safety standards as set by BMF and FAA.Attend required educational sessions, simulation training, and staff meetings. Communication and CollaborationCommunicate professionally and effectively in both written and spoken formats.Maintain positive interactions with patients, families, hospital staff, and BMF colleagues.Support teamwork and demonstrate flexibility in dynamic and high-pressure environments.Potential DutiesAssist with data entry and administrative tasks.Represent Boston MedFlight in public education, outreach, or marketing events.Travel unrestricted as needed for mission requirements, training, or operational support.Minimum QualificationsNational Registry Paramedic and Massachusetts EMT-P certifications required.Minimum of five (5) years of advanced prehospital experience preferred.Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP.FP-C certification required within one year of employment.Copy of highest-level diploma required; Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.Valid U.S. passport, current Real ID-compliant driver’s license, and authorization to work in the U.S.Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English without restriction.Physical RequirementsMust possess physical capability to run, climb, lift patients, and carry medical equipment.Work in confined spaces and in varying environmental conditions, including extreme weather.Must lift 175 pounds between two people from a squatting to a standing position (agility test required annually).Must not exceed a BMI of 30 or a maximum individual weight of 210 lbs for aircraft safety purposes.Individuals with a BMI between 25–30 will be encouraged to seek dietary counseling with support from Occupational Health.Must be free of motion sickness and conditions that impair cognitive or physical function.NotesMust pass FBI and/or CORI background check prior to starting employment.Pre-employment physical.Participation in random drug and alcohol testing.This is a full-time, exempt position.This position requires current COVID-19 and seasonal flu vaccinations, subject to medical or religious exemption requests.
