Job Description
BGC is hiring a motivated dishwasher for a part time seasonal position, to work through mid October. Chef Sean is building a culture that promotes growth in culinary creativity, passion, and technique. As a small-scratch kitchen serving club casual cuisine, the kitchen crew works together through lunch and dinner services. The kitchen is open for a la carte service Wednesday through Monday with occasional catered events during the season.
We are looking for a dishwasher that will consistently and thoroughly clean plates, silverware, glassware, pots, pans, and other kitchen wares. The dishwasher is responsible for running food stuffs between the prep-kitchen area and the hot-line. In addition, during the slower parts of a workday, simple food preparation tasks; for example, peeling carrots, picking herbs, or deep cleaning, will be requested of the dishwasher. If tasks are completed in a timely manner and a passion for food is demonstrated, the chefs are willing to guide and expand the food preparation tasks. Responsibilities
- Availability to work full-time, 40 hours, anytime Wednesday-Monday
- Wash dishes in a timely manner
- Stock the dishwasher station with gloves, trash bags, and cleaning supplies
- Maintain an organized and clean work environment
- Accept food deliveries on a weekly basis
- Complete any task assigned by a chef including deep cleaning or food prep
- Open to asking questions of clarification regarding anything
- Leave the workstation clean and organized at the end of shift
- Keep a positive and professional relationship with coworkers
- Listen to and follow the chef’s instructions
Skills
- One year relevant kitchen experience preferred
- Speak English preferred but not required
- Capability to stand for extended periods of time
