Boston Dynamics seeks an Operational Leader to scale and improve the operational performance for the Data Operations organization for the Atlas Humanoid Robot program. Individuals on the Data Operations team train Atlas through a mix of robotic teleoperation, performing the work activities themselves, and annotating data which is produced. You will play a critical role in building the Data which trains Atlas to perform the jobs customers want to deploy it to.

- Deliver Results: Hours of quality training data and $/hour of quality training data are the KPIs you’ll focus on.
- Rapidly scale up the Data Operations organization. Build scalable recruiting, onboarding, and re-training processes. Create an org structure and recruit key leaders to help grow and manage the organization.
- Define processes and tools to ensure consistent, high-performance operations. For example, develop pre-flight checklists and SOPs for following the checklists before robots are operated. Determine which tools are best for time tracking or providing work instructions at each station.
- Forecast and plan for multiple time scales - weekly, monthly, and yearly. In the short term, forecast hours of data which will be produced for the week based on personnel and equipment plans. In the long term, forecast multi-year budget plans and space needs.
- Set the bar for Operational Excellence. Establish daily shift reports from supervisors to review outcomes and corrective actions each day. Walk the floor regularly to observe how people are following SOPs and performing their duties. Enforce strict safety standards.
- Manage up and sideways. Produce weekly reports for execs and other stakeholders. Ensure that peers such as facilities, IT, and engineering are tackling the highest priority items which impact Data Operations.
- 5 years Operations Management experience in manufacturing, production, distribution environment or related industry.
- 3 years in training and performance management.
- Supervisory responsibility for a minimum of 100 hourly employees
- Experience with data analysis - such as building spreadsheets and dashboard definition.
- Ability to work all levels of the job - from hands on the floor to strategic planning.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Prior exposure and understanding of robotics, virtual reality, and/or annotations for LLM/VLM models.
- You’ve built and/or scaled up a high performing operations org.
- Performed rapid scale-up of an org.
- Korean language proficiency.
