Borboleta has experienced change and growth over the last several years, including a significant impact on the finance department. As a lead contributor to the finance team, this position is poised to assist in the professionalization and continued transformation of Borboleta’s finance and accounting functions.
The staff accountant is the accounting team lead for monthly close procedures. They master the overall close process and procedures. They also complete monthly reconciliation processes, including bank account reconciliations and GL account reconciliations, to ensure integrity and accuracy in accounting entries.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
You’ll play a vital part in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the accounting operations of our growing brand. Your responsibilities will include:
- Play a vital part in the company's financial management
- Prepares and records all close and non-close entries by compiling and analyzing source data and account information
- Handling daily bank transactions
- Manages invoicing and accounts payable process, including oversight of the accuracy/validity of invoices and reviews for payment
- Manages invoicing and accounts receivable process
- Performing reconciliations in AP and AR
- Completing quarterly balance sheet and income statement reconciliations
- Maintains prepaid schedules, depreciation schedules, and accrual schedules supporting the details recorded in these accounts monthly
- Assists in the creation and maintenance of financial statements
- Provides input to establish or revise policies and procedures to improve the accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of financial reports
- Supporting special projects and ad-hoc analysis as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Proficiency in financial accounting, general ledger management, and bookkeeping
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Analytical abilities for financial data review and budget preparation
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for team collaboration
- Passion for the beauty industry is a bonus (but not required!)
