Boone Memorial Health is looking for a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Patient Service Specialist (PSS) to join our Comfort Clinic. As the first person our patients see and speak with, you'll play an important role in creating a positive patient experience while keeping our front office running smoothly.

About Boone Memorial Health
Boone Memorial Health is a growing rural healthcare system serving southern West Virginia. Our organization includes a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital, Level IV Trauma Center, outpatient clinics, specialty services, and retail pharmacies. Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and visitors in a professional, friendly manner
- Register patients and verify demographic and insurance information
- Schedule appointments, referrals, and follow-up visits
- Collect co-pays and process payments
- Answer and direct incoming telephone calls
- Maintain accurate patient information within the electronic health record (EHR)
- Coordinate with providers and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow
- Perform general clerical duties, including scanning, faxing, filing, and document management
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred
- Previous medical office experience
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Knowledge of medical scheduling and insurance verification
