Boone Memorial Health is looking for a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Patient Service Specialist (PSS) to join our Nellis Clinic. As the first person our patients see and speak with, you'll play an important role in creating a positive patient experience while keeping our front office running smoothly.

About Boone Memorial Health

Boone Memorial Health is a growing rural healthcare system serving southern West Virginia. Our organization includes a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital, a Level IV Trauma Center, primary care clinics, specialty practices, walk-in clinics, retail pharmacies, and outpatient services. Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
• Register patients and verify demographic and insurance information
• Schedule appointments, referrals, and follow-up visits
• Collect co-pays and process payments
• Answer and direct incoming telephone calls
• Maintain accurate patient information in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Coordinate with providers and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow
• Perform general clerical duties, including scanning, faxing, filing, and document management
• Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
• Basic computer proficiency
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting
• Experience using an electronic health record (EHR) system
• Knowledge of medical scheduling, insurance verification, and patient registration
