Job Title: Jr. Sushi Chef
Job Summary:
The Jr. Sushi Chef is responsible for producing food primarily for the take-out area, performing some prep work, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the work area. This role supports the culinary team in delivering high-quality sushi and maintaining efficient operations in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Produce food items primarily for the take-out area according to Bondi Sushi's recipes and quality standards.
- Rolling maki, prepping boxes, portioning sauces
- Perform prep work, including chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring all health and safety regulations are followed.
- Communicate with Sushi/Hot line Chefs regarding food quality and availability.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to food hygiene, sanitation, and waste management.
- Assist with opening and closing duties of the kitchen area.
- Contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
- Be ready and willing to assist other members of the team as needed.

Qualifications:
- Ability to maintain a productive and welcoming work environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with team members.
- Understanding of all common food allergies.
- Ability to work in a high-paced, demanding kitchen environment while maintaining professionalism and composure.
- Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and local Department of Health standards.
- Food Handler's Certification or the ability to obtain one in accordance with federal, state, or local regulations.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Familiarity with Japanese (Sushi) cuisine is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
