Job Summary:
This role involves fabricating and welding structural components according to engineering specifications, ensuring high-quality standards and safety compliance. The ideal candidate will have experience in heavy steel fabrication and be proficient in various welding techniques.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and welding symbols.
- Fabricate and assemble metal structures and components for industrial cranes.
- Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and other metals.
- Operate fabrication equipment such as saws, grinders, plasma cutters, and drill presses.
- Inspect welds and fabricated parts for quality and accuracy.
- Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition.
- Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to resolve fabrication issues.
- Assist in crane assembly and installation as needed.
- Ability to lift and handle up to 35 lbs. on a consistent basis and work above ground heights, in excess of 50ft.
- Ability to work in shop and on off-site field work.
- Ability to pass GMAW, and SMAW, 3G, A-36 weld certification test.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification in welding preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in welding and fabrication, preferably in heavy manufacturing.
- Proficient in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Ability to work at heights greater than 20'
- Travel up to 20% percent.
- Must possess own tools
- Basic computer skills: data entry and navigate various Microsoft programs as deemed necessary.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and practices.
- Must possess a clean driving record in order to operate corporate vehicles.
