Position Summary
Based in Andover, MA, the Program Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating programs under the direction of the General Manager - PF. This role ensures programs meet customer specifications, schedules, manages the supply base (raw material, HIP, heat treat, testing/NDT, machining), supports cross-functional collaboration, and provides hands-on leadership throughout the life of the program.
As a key member of the PF leadership team, the Program Manager organizes and tracks progress from business award and first article production through full rate production. Acting as the primary face of Bodycote to customers, the Program Manager must demonstrate professionalism, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage complex projects effectively.

Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to the following.
- Develop, monitor and maintain project Gantt timelines in collaboration with the Bodycote Andover PF team, customer, and suppliers.
- Coordinate activities including:
- Managing contractors, equipment constraints, and suppliers.
- Communicating regularly with customers and sales.
- Overseeing support from internal departments such as Quality, Safety, and operations.
- Creating and maintaining process flows, control plans, and APQP documentation through life of the program.
- Overeeing prototype, development, beta, run-off, and validation work, including purchase order review and documentation.
- Adhering to Bodycote Management System (BMS) requirements, including APQP.
- Delivering technical presentations and program updates in group settings as needed.
- Establish regular meetings with various stakeholders including customers and suppliers to ensure project stays on track.
- Works in a technical selling capacity to land new customers.
- Travel to customer and supplier locations for update meetings, run-offs of equipment, etc.
- Manage prototyping .
- May have access to proprietary and third party information necessary to the business and as such will perform duties in an ethical and professional manner.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (Technical Degree Preferred) or equivalent work experience.
- Experience Necessary: Minimum 5 years in plant management, general management, quality management or logistics/supply chain management. Some sales experience preferred. Experience with metallurgical laboratory equipment, metallurgical evaluation, heat treatment, Nadcap and/or raw materials desired.
- Reading blueprint specifications required and writing metallurgical reports desired.
- Must have good knowledge of computer applications, basic math and accurate typing skills. Computer programs required include: Microsoft project, word, excel, PowerPoint, outlook, Teams, SharePoint and adobe.
- Must be able to multi-task, self-motivated and detail oriented.
- Language Skills: Must be able to communicate in English orally and in writing. Spanish or other languages a plus.
- Must be able to deal professionally and pleasantly over the phone and in person with all stakeholders – getting along with people while remaining assertive is important.
- Position requires flexibility with work schedule. Weekend work may be required for certain projects.
- Travel required is generally 10-25% or more if needed.
- Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact professionally with co-workers.
- Must be able to maintain professional disposition in front of customers and other stakeholders while under pressure or in intense meetings.
- Must be able to work in a sitting/standing position for extended periods of time (at desk, while driving, and/or on airplane travel) in an office/industrial environment.
- Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
- Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions.
- Ability to lift 25-30 lbs.
- May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity.
- Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
- Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
- Ability to hear in person and via phone.
