Position Summary: If you thrive working outdoors, this 12-month GA position plays a key role in maintaining an appealing environment around the women's residence halls. Work varies between solo and alongside co-workers and is available immediately. This year-round GA position is available only to those pursuing post-graduate studies at Bob Jones University.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Landscaping: watering
- Hardscaping: cleaning
- Cleaning and dusting reachable exterior building windows and doors
- Cleaning and waxing exterior fixtures
- Street and sidewalk cleaning
- Trash clean up
- General campus clean up
- Storm clean up (We are responsible to clear and open paths after a storm. This could mean working through the night.)
- Delegate and work alongside student workers
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to conduct physical labor
- Valid (US) drivers license
- Flexible daytime work schedule with the ability to work between the hours of 7am-6pm Monday through Friday
OTHER PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Drive motorized vehicles
- Work around machines
- Work above floor level
- Exposed to dust, fumes, gases
- Exposed to marked changes in temperatures
- Work outdoors in varying weather
- Repetitive foot movement to operate foot controls (both feet)
- Repetitive hand movement (firm grasp, fine manipulation, grasp & pull) - both hands
- Various head and neck positions (frequent flexion)
