BlueSun has an excellent opportunity for a Public Service Representative to work for Dept of Veterans Affairs in Salem

Wage $21.39

Position Tasks/Descriptions:

• Under the direction of ODVA Loan Specialist 2 and Loan Specialist 3 staff, provide loan processing support for the ORVET Home Loan Program during a period of high volume/staff vacancy.
• Set up and maintain loan files in the loan origination system (Calyx Point); verify that entered data matches the application and supporting documents.
• Review broker and lender loan submissions for completeness against the ORVET Loan Origination Guide – Synopsis and ODVA submission checklists; prepare and send needs lists for missing items.
• Order, track and follow up on third-party items: verifications of employment and deposit, title reports, appraisals, flood certifications, hazard insurance, and payoff statements.
• Track outstanding underwriting conditions, collect documents to clear them, and route completed files to the underwriter.
• Assist in preparing disclosures, closing packages and funding documents for review and issuance by ODVA staff; coordinate closing schedules with title/escrow companies.
• Review closed-loan files delivered by lending partners for completeness before loan purchase.
• Maintain the pipeline/status log; answer file-status inquiries from brokers, lenders, and veterans.
• Scan, index, and file loan documents in ODVA's document management system.
• Not authorized to make credit or eligibility decisions, approve exceptions, quote or lock interest rates, or sign documents on behalf of ODVA — these remain with ODVA staff.

Top 5 Criteria for Successful Candidate:

• Two or more years of residential mortgage loan processing experience, taking files from application through closing (conventional/Fannie Mae preferred; VA or other government loan experience a plus).
• Working knowledge of mortgage documentation and compliance: reading DU/AUS findings, credit reports, income and asset documents, title commitments, and appraisals; familiarity with TRID (Loan Estimate/Closing Disclosure) timing requirements.
• Proficiency with a loan origination system (Calyx Point preferred) and Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat; fast, accurate data entry.
• Demonstrated discretion handling confidential borrower financial information (nonpublic personal information under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act).
• Strong organization and professional phone/email communication; able to manage multiple loan files at once, track conditions to deadlines, and work with veterans, brokers, lenders, and title/escrow companies.
