Position Overview
Seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team in Ponder, Texas. The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, reviewing project specifications and drawings, performing material take-offs, and supporting bid preparation for lightning protection and electrical construction projects.
The ideal candidate will have experience in electrical estimating, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with project managers, engineers, vendors, and clients to ensure competitive and accurate project pricing.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine project requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical and lightning protection projects.
- Perform material take-offs and quantity calculations.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations.
- Develop labor, equipment, and material cost estimates.
- Prepare and submit bid proposals within established deadlines.
- Analyze project risks and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain estimating databases, pricing information, and historical project records.
- Coordinate with project managers and field personnel to ensure accurate project scope development.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client discussions as needed.
- Assist with change order pricing and project cost analysis.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of electrical estimating experience.
- Strong understanding of electrical construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Experience reviewing blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
- Knowledge of material take-offs and quantity surveying.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience estimating commercial, industrial, or specialty electrical projects.
- Knowledge of lightning protection systems and grounding systems.
- Experience with estimating software such as Accubid, ConEst, McCormick, Bluebeam, or similar platforms.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Understanding of NEC (National Electrical Code) requirements.
