Wine Bar Manager

Bluebird Hill Cellars and Revenir Wine Bar and...
Corvallis, OR Full Time
POSTED ON 3/25/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 5/23/2026

We are looking for an experienced Wine Bar Manager to lead operations at our new wine bar located in Corvallis, Oregon. This is a senior role for someone who is passionate about wine, takes pride in running a great team, and knows how to deliver a consistently excellent guest experience.

You will own the wine program, manage staff across locations, and be the go-to person for keeping operations running smoothly. We value someone who is self-directed, communicates well, and brings deep hospitality experience to the table. We welcome candidates local to the Corvallis area, particularly those with restaurant and bar management experience. Prior management experience is highly valued, even if you have not previously managed a wine bar specifically.

Key Responsibilities

Wine Program & Inventory

· Develop, curate, and regularly update the wine list — spanning regions, varietals, and price points — to reflect the venue's identity and drive revenue

· Build and maintain strong supplier relationships; negotiate pricing and terms

· Manage inventory levels, oversee ordering and receiving, and maintain beverage cost controls

· Create wine pairing menus and contribute to staff training on wine knowledge

Staff Leadership

· Recruit, hire, onboard, and train service staff across venues to deliver knowledgeable, exceptional service

· Build and manage schedules for multiple locations; maintain appropriate coverage at all times

· Mentor and develop staff with a focus on wine knowledge, service standards, and teamwork

· Set clear expectations and foster a positive, accountable team culture

Operations & Compliance

· Oversee day-to-day bar operations and ensure a clean, organized, and welcoming environment

· Enforce strict adherence to all local, state, and federal liquor laws, safety regulations, and health codes

· Act as a reliable operational point of contact; handle day-to-day decisions confidently and communicate proactively with ownership

· Assist with business communications, including coordination with internal stakeholders as needed

Financial Management

· Monitor and manage beverage costs against budget targets

· Analyze sales data, track key metrics, and report on financial performance

· Look for opportunities to improve efficiency and margins without compromising quality

Customer Experience

· Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally

· Be a visible, approachable, and knowledgeable presence on the floor

· Maintain a welcoming, elevated atmosphere consistent with the brand

Marketing & Events

· Help develop and promote wine tastings, curated events, and seasonal programming

· Partner with ownership on marketing initiatives and wine-focused promotions

· Stay current on wine trends and bring fresh ideas to the program

Required Skills & Qualifications

· Wine Expertise: Deep knowledge of wine regions, varietals, and food pairings; sommelier certification (CMS) or WSET Level 3 strongly preferred; working experience in a winery or wine-focused establishment in a supervisory or managerial role is also valued

· Leadership: Proven experience managing and developing a team in a restaurant, bar, or hospitality setting; wine bar management experience is a plus but not required — strong communicator who brings out the best in people

· Initiative: Comfortable taking ownership of your responsibilities, making confident decisions in the flow of service, and keeping things moving

· Business Acumen: Hands-on experience with POS systems, inventory management, beverage cost control, and financial reporting

· Communication: Clear, professional communication with staff, guests, suppliers, and ownership — written and verbal

· Flexibility: Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
