Position Summary:


To help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem.

  • This position reports to the Principal and Activities Director.
  • Salary will be commensurate with experience.
  • Stipend Range: $7,565 - $8,322

Essential Functions:

  • Coaches individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in soccer.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the rules and fundamentals of soccer.
  • Plans and schedules a regular program of practice in season.
  • Actively promote, schedule, and design off-season practices and workout opportunities for student-athletes, maximizing the utilization of all currently allowable MSHSAA contact days.
  • Oversees the safety conditions of the facility or area in which volleyball is conducted, and at all times, students are present.
  • Maintains accurate statistics, records, and results of the season.
  • Enforces discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times, and establishes and oversees penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.
  • Provide emergency first aid
  • Maintain a conducive and safe environment.
  • Maintain, issue, and provide an accurate inventory of school equipment.
  • Model skills of the sport.
  • Develop positive relations with students and parents. This includes appropriate dress,
  • language, and demeanor.
  • Place a team on the field of competition and substitute players appropriately as part of a

well-organized game plan.

  • Screen student athletes for membership on a team. When cuts are required because of

size limitations, proper judgment must be present to assess skills, aptitude, interest,

citizenship, future ability, and temperament.

  • Provide eligibility lists, rosters, and other paperwork as required by administration.
  • Promote participation, conditioning, and training through camps and individual contacts

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs. such as sports equipment or items normally associated with the day-to-day operation of the program. The employee is directly responsible for safety, well-being, or work output of other people. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.

Experience: Previous experience in coaching soccer preferred.


Education: Educator certification preferred. Must hold a valid Missouri teaching certificate or be eligible for a substitute teaching certificate (minimum 60 college credit hours.)
