Bookkeeper

Blue Skies Services is hiring a full-time bookkeeper in Nashville, Tennessee. You will manage the books for a portfolio of home service clients. A full client load. Numbers that have to be right. Problems nobody has a playbook for yet. Growth and recognition for those who see it through.

About Blue Skies Services

Blue Skies Services provides bookkeeping and financial reporting for hundreds of home service companies across the country, including plumbing, cleaning, and landscaping businesses. We came out of a multi-location service business, so we understand our clients' work firsthand. We use modern software where it helps, but the judgment calls come down to our team.

Duties

• You will manage the monthly close for a portfolio of client accounts in QuickBooks Online.
• You will review and categorize transactions and run bank and credit card reconciliations.
• You will research and resolve any account that does not reconcile.
• You will answer client questions and request missing documents.
• You will suggest improvements to our internal processes.

Requirements

• Bookkeeping experience is preferred, especially in QuickBooks Online.
• You understand debits and credits, profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and what a completed reconciliation should look like.
• You work accurately and manage your own workload with limited supervision.
• You learn new software quickly.
• You communicate clearly in writing.
• Experience with home service or trade businesses and accounting coursework are helpful but not required.

Schedule, pay, and benefits

This position is in person at our Nashville office for 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Pay is $22 to $26 per hour.

Bookkeepers who learn quickly take on more client accounts and more responsibility over time. We promote from within before we hire from outside.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
